ABOUT US

The Dammers-Desmond Trio (DDT) is composed of the husband & wife team , Fred & Ellen Dammers, and their daughter, Alycia Desmond. They had their start in Gospel Music in 2009 as founding members of the Testament Band. The group performed about once every six weeks during church services at the Rutherford Congregational Church (RCC). In time the original six member band shrunk to just three remaining members in 2011.
Fred Dammers crossed paths with John Dull of JMHD Productions at a concert held at the RCC in 2012. Fred invited John to play at a benefit concert being held in November 2013 at the RCC. The Testament Band was one of the acts performing. John liked the Band and subsequently asked them to perform in two of his productions.
In 2016 an intimate folk concert was being planned for April. The Testament Band had been evolving their music and was now ready to enter the mainstream of secular music. They changed their name to the Dammers-Desmond Trio and performed in concert with John & Martin Dull in April and then again in November of 2016 where they opened for Tom Chapin.
They performed at the Hackensack River Keeper's EXPO & Concert at the RCC Concert Hall on 3-30-19. They were joined by Ken Miller on fiddle and performed 7 pieces during the EXPO. Their performance was captured on 4 GoPro cameras and later edited by Fred and are available on-line.
When Covid became a national health issue their focus turned to creating multiscreen videos of songs performed for church services. These included solo performances and trio performances. This continued until Covid was behind us and in person worship was resumed.
Currently the Trio is performing once or twice a month during worship services.
All service videos are posted on YouTube (Rutherford Congregational) with selected videos appearing here and on the church website (www.rccucc.com).
The family owned DVP Studios oversees sound and lighting for concerts held in the RCC Concert Hall and also produces videos of DDT's performances. This has been expanded into multicamera recordings of worship services and musical performances which are posted on YouTube.
